How Does Brainspotting Work?
During a Brainspotting session, the therapist guides you to focus on a particular issue that is challenging you and to find, as you’re exploring that issue, the location in your body where you feel it. Then, focusing on that “felt sense” in your body, the therapist helps guide you to focus your eyes so where they look feels connected to that felt sense. That’s your Brainspot, associated with the specific issue you were exploring. As you focus on this Brainspot, your brain processes and releases the trauma or stress stored in that area of your brain. This process allows for profound emotional healing and can lead to lasting changes.
