Elise (she/her) is a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, children/teens, couples, and families. Elise understands the vulnerability and courage it takes to begin the counseling process. She works alongside clients to provide a safe space for emotional growth and healing while helping navigate life’s daily challenges. She infuses humor and laughter when appropriate to create an approachable atmosphere while fostering progress.
Elise specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families. In addition, Elise has a special interest in supporting emerging adults (18-29) in discovering their identity while also helping parents navigate this transition themselves. Her work integrates a range of empirically supported treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment-Focused Therapy as well as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and DBT. Elise is also trained in Brainspotting, a therapeutic tool that helps clients process and heal from trauma and emotional distress within the deep brain and body.
Elise earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University. In addition to working in a private practice setting, she has worked in a wide variety of settings including McGaw YMCA and Camp Echo, where she provided emotional support and crisis stabilization services. Outside of professional life, Elise remains busy raising and keeping up with her daughters. She also enjoys running and participating in races throughout the year to challenge herself both physically and mentally.
